Alot of people, myself included have found our haven at the gym… My journey started at 16, when I was in desperate need to build some more muscle in order to compete with the other older players on my football team… Being skinny and short, I found myself at the receiving end of never ending tackles and body slams… I quickly found that as my confidence and strength grew in the gym, the results manifested themselves on the pitch as well as off the pitch… Although I don’t play football as much as I used, I still go regularly to the gym, some 24 years later…

Been playing team sports(football in my case) since the age of six… In addition to the health benefits of doing physical activity from an early age, one cannot overlook the mental benefits either…. In addition to the confidence from the feeling of mastery, the camaraderie and bonds created are vital to ones socialization and ability to work with others. Research has shown that participating in team sports also increase communication skills, self esteem, time management, decision making and improve general health to name a few benefits.
